Pakistan defeated South Africa by 7 wickets in the first Test.

In the match played at the National Stadium Karachi, Pakistan achieved the target of 88 runs at a loss of 3 wickets.

Azhar Ali (31) and Fawad Alam (4) remained unbeaten. Captain Babar Azam (30), Imran Butt (12) and Abid Ali (10) were all out.

For South Africa, Enrich Nortje took two wickets and Keshu Maharaj took one.

Earlier, the South African team was all out for 245 in their second innings thanks to the superb bowling of Pakistani spinners.

For South Africa, Eden Markram (74), Recei Vander Dawson (64) and Tamba Bauma (40) were the standouts.

Dan Elgar scored 29, George Linde 11 and Faf Dupleix 10 runs. Apart from him, no batsman could enter the double figures.

For Pakistan, debutant Noman Ali took five wickets, Yasir Shah four and Hassan Ali one.

Remember that South Africa decided to bat first after winning the toss, which proved to be correct in the opening session.

In the first session, South Africa had scored more than 100 runs for the loss of two wickets. However, after the lunch break, Pakistani bowlers dominated and did not allow the South African batsmen to play.

For Pakistan, Yasir Shah was prominent with 3 wickets while debutant Noman Ali took 2 wickets.

Shaheen Shah Afridi also managed to take 2 wickets while Hassan Ali took one wicket.

Fawad Alam was declared the best player of the match for scoring a magnificent century.
