Shafqat Mahmood addresses press conference in Islamabad

Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood has said that the final decision on the opening of the schools  will be taken on September 7.

Addressing press conference along with State Health Minister Dr Faisal Sultan in Islamabad, Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood said the children’s education suffered to a great extent due to lockdowns.

He said that Pakistan is witnessing a speedy recovery in the Coronavirus cases and has nearly won the war against the dread virus.

Earlier today Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood rejected false news that schools across the country would remain closed till October due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Shafqat Mahmood said the meeting between all the education ministers will decide the likelihood of reopening schools and that too, in a phased manner.

“Some fake accounts in my name are spreading false news that schools will remain closed till Oct. Not true.

Education ministers meet on 7th to finally decide with the likelihood of opening on Sept 15 in a phased manner,” he said in his tweet.
