شکاگو: امریکا کے تیسرے بڑے شہر میں مسلح افراد نے فائرنگ کر کے ایک سالہ بچے کو قتل کردیا، چند روز میں فائرنگ سے دو کمسن بچوں کی ہلاکتیں ہوئیں۔
میڈیا رپورٹ کے مطابق امریکی ریاست شکاگو میں بائیس سالہ ماں اپنے بچے کے ساتھ ہفتے کی دوپہر گاڑی میں جارہی تھیں کہ اسی دوران نامعلوم کار سواروں نے آکر اُن کی گاڑی کو گھیر لیا۔
خاتون چونکہ خود ہی ڈرائیونگ کررہی تھیں تو انہوں نے گاڑی کو ٹکر پڑنے کے بعد اپنی کار کو سنبھالنے کی کوشش کی۔ کار میں سوار نامعلوم افراد نے خاتون کی گاڑی کو ٹکر ماری اور پھر اُس پر فائرنگ کردی۔
پولیس حکام نے مطابق مسلح افراد نے خاتون کی گاڑی پر 8 گولیاں چلائیں جن میں سے دو گولیاں بچے کے سینے اور سر پر لگیں جس کی وجہ سے اُس کی موت واقع ہوئی۔
شکاگو پولیس کے سربراہ فریڈ والر کا کہنا تھا کہ ’فائرنگ کا واقعہ جنوبی علاقے میں پیش آیا، ایسے واقعات معمول کا حصہ ہیں، ہم اس بارے میں کچھ نہیں کہہ سکتے کہ ایسے واقعات کا سلسلہ کب تک جاری رہے گا اور افسوسناک سانحات کب ختم ہوں گے؟‘۔
یاد رہے کہ ایک ہفتے قبل بھی شکاگو کے جنوبی علاقے میں اسی طرح کا واقعہ پیش آیا تھا جس میں تین سالہ میکی جیمز نامی بچے کی موت واقع ہوئی تھی، بچہ اپنے والد کے ساتھ گاڑی میں سفر کررہا تھا۔
پولیس افسر کا کہنا تھا کہ ’ہم تین سالہ بچے کے قاتلوں کو جلد گرفتار کرلیں گے، ہم ایک سالہ بچے کو قتل کرنے والے افراد کو بھی لازمی گرفتار کریں گے‘۔
شکاگو کے میئر لوری لائٹ فٹ اور پولیس کے سپریٹنڈنٹ ڈیوڈ براؤن نے ہفتے کے روز ہونے والے واقعے میں ملوث افراد کی شناخت کے لیے عوام سے مدد مانگ لی ہے۔
پولیس سپریٹنڈنٹ ڈیوڈ براؤن کا کہنا تھا کہ ’ہمیں اُن مشتعل افراد کے بارے میں پتہ لگانا ہے جو شہر میں پرتشدد کارروائیوں میں ملوث ہیں، مقتول بچہ اور شکاگو کے تمام شہریوں کی حفاظت ہماری اولین ترجیح ہے‘۔
آخری اطلاعات موصول ہونے تک پولیس نے دونوں واقعات کی تحقیقات کا آغاز کردیا مگر اس حوالے سے کسی بھی شخص کی گرفتاری عمل میں نہیں آئی۔
