The 16th death anniversary of famous poet Ahmed Faraz is being celebrated today
The 16th death anniversary of romantic poet Ahmed Faraz is being celebrated today.
Ahmed Faraz was born on January 14, 1931 in Kohat, poetry was his heritage, Ahmad Faraz did his MA in three languages, Urdu, Persian and English.
In 1960, he was still a student when his first collection of poetry, Tanha Tanha, was published.

Many eminent singers praised Ahmed Faraz’s poetry, Mehdi Hasan and Madam Noor Jahan gained fame by singing Ahmed Faraz’s ghazals.
For his literary career spanning over six decades, he has been honored with many awards including Hilal Imtiaz, Satara Imtiaz, Hilal Pakistan and Nigar Awards.
Ahmed Faraz’s poetry collections include “Tanha Tanha”, “Janaan Jaanaan”, “Khaab Gul Parishan Hai”, “Dard Ashoob”, “Blind City Mirror”, “Soundless Street”. Among the coaches”, ‘Shab Khoon’, ‘Mere Khaban Reza Reza’ and ‘Ae Ishq Jaffa Prosah’.
Ahmed Faraz left this world on August 25, 2008.
