Hollywood actress Diana Rigg from television series “Game of Thrones” has passed away at the age of 82. Her agent announced the news of her demise on Thursday.
Simon Beresford, Rigg’s agent said in a statement that,
“It is with tremendous sadness that we announce that Dame Diana Rigg died peacefully early this morning.”
He went on to say that,
“She was at home with her family who has asked for privacy at this difficult time,” he added, calling her “an icon of theatre, film, and television”.
According to Rigg’s daughter Rachael Stirling, her mother was diagnosed with cancer in March and said,
“Spent her last months joyfully reflecting on her extraordinary life, full of love, laughter, and deep pride in her profession”.
“I will miss her beyond words.”
