Fawad Chaudhry’s disqualification petition fixed for hearing

A petition seeking disqualification of Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has been fixed for hearing in the Islamabad High Court.

According to details, the Registrar’s Office of the Islamabad High Court has issued a case list for next week in which the disqualification petition of Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry has been fixed for hearing on February 1.

A single bench of the Islamabad High Court comprising Chief Justice Athar Minallah will hear the petition on Monday.

The Islamabad High Court has already issued notices to Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry and the Election Commission after the petition was filed.

Leading anchor person Sami Ibrahim has filed a petition for disqualification of Fawad Chaudhry. The petition alleges that Fawad Chaudhry is hiding assets.

The petition contends that Fawad Chaudhry did not disclose the land of Jhelum in the statements, therefore Fawad Chaudhry has not been honest and trustworthy.

The petitioner has requested the court to disqualify Fawad Chaudhry under Article 62 (1) F of the Constitution.
